I told almost everyone I know about my goals in life. And the replies I got back are usually: “Be realistic!”, “Don’t think too much.”, “Impossible!”, etc. I used to think like them. Maybe its because of the culture around me, I have always been in the “normal” lifestyle.

I started to change all my thinkings and beliefs when I met the first millionaire in my life. He changed my life instantly. He said before, the money you earned is a measure of how successful you are. That time, I said to myself, in 10 years’ time, I shall become a millionaire too! I got so motivated and started to plan my goals to reach it. Of course, the people around me did not come to me and say “You can do it!”, etc. Instead, they laughed at how dumb I am to set those goals. I just ignored them.

As time goes by, I started to procrastinate and slack around although I was in Junior College. I started to forget those goals I set for myself. Now I finished NS and had experienced alot of life experiences. I witnessed death. My grandfather and childhood friend. My grandfather died in front of me in the hospital! I start to value life and realise that I cannot continue to slack around. I finally found the reasons to the goals I set. To give my family the best I could. To allow my children to live a better life than mine. To lead a life of no regrets. Live to the fullest.

I reviewed the goals I set and amended it.

My goals are:
1) To be the top 1% in my University course by the second year.
2) To earn my first million by the age of 26.

Do they seem impossible to most people?

I realised people do not set high goals because they are afraid of failing and not meeting the goals which caused them to feel even bad about life.

Do people always achieve their goals in life? In fact, people do not achieve most of the goals they want. If those people work hard towards their goals, they will be much better than doing nothing about the goals. It is the process that makes someone a better person.

Of course, one cannot keep thinking of that. Because if you keep thinking that it is not okay if you did not meet your goals, you will soon procrastinate and forget all about your goals.

To me, I MUST achieve my goals, even if I could not achieve within the datelines I set to! I want to give my 101% to my future! I want no regrets.

If you think you got the same beliefs as me, you should also start setting goals for yourself! =)
